So, my poor little Ash has no blogs about him, besides announcing my pregnancy, and when we found out he was a boy. It was a pretty easy pregnancy. I gained half as much as with Caleb. He was much more still, I would go days without feeling him! Just got uncomfortable at the end, had killer heartburn. I fell on my stomach on the kitchen floor, going over the baby gate a week before he came. I was so worried I hurt him, but he was ok! On November 26th he arrived. He was 7 pounds 14 ounces. They said he was only 18.5 inches, but at pediatrician visit that week he was 20.5". He seemed so skinny and tiny then, and he is already such a big chunk now! Asher is very sweet. He hasn't liked to be moved, changed, has had reflux issues, and some colic. But he is doing much better. At a month old, on Christmas he smiled at his momma. He has the best smile. Both my boys do! Amazing, heart melting smiles. He loves to laugh and play. He giggles when momma plays with him. He loves staring at and smiling at his brother and his daddy. He likes to chew on his fist. He loves to eat! He has the best pout in the business, sticks his lower lip out like a champ, since he was tiny! He brings me joy every day. I love rocking him to sleep and singing to him. He gets this peaceful, sweet look on his face. The first few months with 2 under 2 was really hectic. Now that Ash is a little older, I think I will have more time to blog. For now, I have just facebooked, I can do it from my phone! It is a little quicker and easier. But I really felt that I needed to give Asher his own blog entry!!! Asher Jhon, we love you! The Weight Game

Some of you know, some don't, but seven years ago this month I had weight loss surgery. I have just been thinking about my journey, my issues with weight and decided to tell my story.

It started young. I have been conscious of my weight since I was young. I was always tall, slightly chubby, but not fat. Until I hit puberty.

Life as a fat girl:
I remember going walking with my mom though beautiful Panama, going with her to aerobics, and all sorts of stuff. By high school, I was plus sized. Then in my 20s it got harder. I was on medication for my endometriosis problems that puffed me up. I just kept gaining weight. I wasn't a perfect eater, but I wasn't that bad. I was on a test drug for endo and gained 20 pounds in a month. Basically from 15-28 years old, weight was a daily struggle always on my mind. I was on a diet for 14 years. I was always self conscious of it. It was hard. When I worked out like crazy (twice a day) and really dieted, I could get down to a size 14, around 185 pounds. If I worked out a few times a week, did pretty good dieting, I was around a 16. Then if I wasn't being careful, I got up to 18, but I never let myself go past that. I would be 200+ pounds and running 6 miles straight. It was REALLY hard. It was frustrating. Why me? No one else in my family was overweight! For awhile, Matt was a tiny bit chubby, but he hit puberty and got tall and skinny, and I hit it and blew up! I made my poor size 0 sister feel bad because I resented her being so tiny while I was stuck being fat. I am sorry about that. It wasn't her fault. Sorry Em! I never dated. Guys were always my best friends, I had a lot of friends, but they never wanted to date me. The only 2 dates I went on in high school were girl ask boys dances. :( And like I said, I was painfully aware constantly, that I was fat.
Finally after something happened, in a tearful conversation with my sweet dad, surgery came up. I had the means at the time, and a little help from home, and went for it. I researched surgeons and found an awesome one, who had been doing doing WLS and was an ER surgeon for over 20 years. I had to get a psych eval. I had to go to 2 presurgery group meetings. Then on March 29, 2004, my life changed. The weight came off very quickly. My messed up hormones didn't have a choice anymore. When eating one ounce of cottage cheese or refried beans for a meal for a few weeks, you are going to lose weight!

The first few years after fatness:
I remember how I noticed people looking at me differently. Men looked at me. It was weird. People treated me differently. It was amazing. I still felt self conscious for 3 years or so. I still had the mind of a fat girl, but I was down to about 160, about a size 8/10 for me. I hadn't been that size since junior high probably. It almost made me mad sometimes how people were so different to me. I was the same person, but people didn't treat me the same! I was on a date with a guy I met online, and he decided to tell me about how his friend ended up going out with a girl who didn't represent herself accurately, and ended up being overweight. The way he spoke about her and her weight apalled me. Then I informed him that I had recently had surgery and I had been overweight. He said, "oh, I blew it." Yep, needless to say, we never went out again. I am very aware of how people treat others in front of me. If I can see they are rude to heavy people, I will not associate with them. I know they wouldn't be treating me the same. I weighed myself every day still for a few years. I was obssessed still.

7 Years Later:
After about 3 years, I didn't think about weight anymore. Stopped weighing myself. Didn't obssess. I loved working out. I was up to 13 miles when I was in a bad accident and my running training was messed up. But either way, working out or not, I am maintaining my loss. It is so nice not to have to worry about it. My husband never knew me fat. Besides family and half my coworkers, most people I know now never knew me as a fat girl. I am not shy about surgery though. Many people have had questions and I am open to answering them. I can't eat a lot at a time. I can't drink after I ate. My stomach has not stretched. So I do think about how I have to eat, and what I can't eat. I gained 50 pounds with Caleb. I didn't care. It came off very easily. Now I pay attention to my weight, because I am shocked how it is coming off. I eat worse than I ever did when I was fat right now. I ate sooooo much better when I was fat! I am so busy with the boys I eat chips and clearance Valentine's chocolate. So I can't believe where I am at. I was 158 both times I got pregnant. Last I weighed myself, 150. The lowest I got to was 145, and I was size 6, and people thought I looked sick. That is pretty small for my 5'10" frame. So it is awesome that I was able to lose the baby weight. I am happy about that, but I still don't think and worry about weight much. Mostly when people comment to me about it.

I don't have many digital pics of my fat days. These are ones others posted on facebook. I have a hard time looking at pics from the old days. There are some
hanging in my moms house that make me gag. It is hard to see, I remember how I felt in that body. I have learned a lot about myself, about how others see weight. I have to admit, when others admire or envy my "skinniness" it does make me happy. After the years of misery, it is nice to be on the other side!

Darn it. I had a whole blog written and made a dumb move and lost it all.....I hate when I am a dummy.... Here we go again. Hope I can say it how I wanted again. I have a lot of updating to do, but I was thinking about some things last night.

This week I came across the blog of a momma who buried her 4 month old baby girl. Then encountered similar experiences from other blogs off the comments of this one. My heart ached for these women I don't know all week.

I didn't think I would end up having the opportunity to marry. I was an old bride! :)Then because of that and health reasons I didn't think I would ever be blessed to be a mother. In a blink of an eye it seems, I am a wife and mother to two special boys. They are all my miracles.

In the grind of daily life it is easy to let that slip your mind. I don't ever forget how blessed I am, but the dirty floors, the screaming babies, and other things come more forefront. It gets hard and frustrating. I never understood what people meant when they said sleep while you can. I never knew real tiredness until I became a mother, and I sure thought I had.

Asher didn't sleep very well yesterday. During his only good nap, I made a cd of lullabies and baby boy songs. So last night when he would NOT go to sleep, at about 11, I laid in my bed with him in my arms and played the cd. Three songs in my sweet boy finally drifted off. But I just laid there, listening to the words of every song, and pondering my journey of motherhood and the privilege it is to have my two wonderful boys. I thought of what Kellie was feeling, not having her Maddie to hold in her arms anymore. I thought of how lucky I am to have spit up to wipe away, laundry to do, bottles to wash....I am sure she would give anything to have those things back, along with her dear sweet baby. I don't care how tired I am, how much work there is to do, it is a joy. I am going to try not to complain about these things ever again!! I didn't go to sleep until the songs were over, and then slept peacefully with my baby in my arms.

Arizona Trip #1

Caleb and I journeyed to Arizona for a week during June. Emily and her kiddos were there. I learned that traveling with a kid who wants to be mobile for that long is NOT so fun, and that I need to do the drive during the evening, close to bed time!
We did lots of swimming and fun stuff, like a trip to Dairy Queen. Caleb loved playing with grandma, grandpa, and his cousins. Caleb rode his first horse. He was crying in the pic because we were putting the hat on him, he wasn't scared of the horse. He did great after he calmed down. His hair was way too much of a temptation for Rhett. It got pulled a few times!

So today we pretty clearly saw that our new bundle of joy is a boy! I did really want to have a daughter, but I feel that the kiddos that are sent to me are sent for a reason, so I will happily be a mama to boys only. I know Caleb and him will be best friends and it will be fun. I still can't buy the cute hair bows and tutus I see, but it is ok! We have no names yet...at all. But we are excited and can't wait to meet our new guy!

Our Spring

Wow!!!!!!!!! What a busy time we have had!!! This semester I took 15 credits in all. There was a lot of new things and busy things we had to do at work. We had to move in 3 weeks after finding out we had too! And then the whole new pregnancy thing thrown in the mix, and taking care of an infant too. It was a very hard time, but I have had great support and so much help! We have survived!

The new baby has been predicted to be a girl. We will find out for sure on July 1st. The same ultrasound doctor said Caleb was a boy at 12 weeks. I am at 15 weeks and have only gained 4 pounds, I gained 3 times that with Caleb. I think it is because it has been so busy and Caleb doesn't like to give me time to eat!! They did some special testing because I am such an old lady, and the numbers look good that the baby does not have Downs or other trisomys. So far, so good. I had an appointment and got to listen to the heartbeat today. Music to my ears. I really have not even had time to really think about being pregnant! I feel bad, because I did a whole blog the first time and I was pretty much a woman obsessed. This poor neglected baby!

Caleb just turned 9 months. He had his appointment Monday, and he was 24 pounds 2 ounces, and 30.5 inches long. So 90-95% for weight and over 97th% for height. He is babbling and talking like crazy. He started normal crawling after soldier crawling for awhile! He pulls to a stand and cruises all over while hanging onto all the furniture! He won't hold still! And then he gets mad when he falls, but he keeps going anyway! He learned to climb the stairs, climbed all 15 stairs in just minutes. I am so glad we have moved into a 1 story. He loves to grab paper or whatever he can hurry and get his hands on and eat it! He can get across the room in 1.5 seconds if he sees something new out that he wants! He is a maniac, always on the prowl for something to explore! He loves to play with older kids, there are a few he is around a lot! He loves smiling at EVERYONE. Any one who talks to him or smiles at him, he will give the biggest grin! I love watching him make people smile. OH, and he has his two bottom teeth, they haven't come in all the way yet, but the first started coming in about a month ago, and then the second came soon after.

Needless to say, I was EXHAUSTED and I am so relieved to be out of work for the summer! I have gotten to finally meet up with friends I don't see often and just hang out with Caleb all day! Jhon and I got to go to the Cirque de Soleil: Mystere show this week for free because of his job hook up. He is working nights, so I see him a few minutes before he goes to work and on Sundays and Mondays. It is hard, but he has to take less than desirable shifts to be able to have Sundays off. I plan to go to Arizona to see Emily and her family, Aaron and his family, Matt, and my parents next week. Then Jhon and Solomon and I will go again in July because Nathan and his family will be in AZ also, so the whole family will be together for the first time since August '08. Besides that, we will be working on unpacking and making this house our home!

Baby #2

I am happy we can announce that we are expecting baby #2! I am 8 weeks along. Today I saw the heart beat and my HCG levels are great! I am taking bets on if it will be Jhon's 4th son or if we will finally get some pink in our lives!!!

So we flew to Sacramento for a 4 day trip to spend time with Jhon's sons. It was
a whole lot of fun. We took the boys to How to Tame a Dragon-there are pics below of Caleb at his first movie! They played at the arcade. We had a barbecue. Solomon
loved our breakfast everyday at the hotel. We did lots of other fun things
together, like going on walks to the state capital and going to the park.

We went to the park with my friend Pam and her daughter Brooke.
It was fun now that Caleb can sit up. I was so happy, he played in the
sand forever, and didn't try to eat it! He really was watching how the sand moved
and then examined the wood chips. He did eventually try to eat those!
So then we went for a walk and looked at the ducks and turtles. It was a
beautiful day! We are going again this weekend! Whoo hoo!

Just a few days after he turned 6 months, Mr. Caleb decided to sit up! Well, his momma decided to keep helping him try, and it stuck! He wasn't too sure about it, still isn't, but he does it! Here are just a few new pics.

Six months

How can it be? Our little man is already six months!!! He is growing up to fast for his momma to handle. So just before he turned 5 months, on Feb. 2nd he rolled over. And since then, he is just changing non-stop!

He is grabbing at everything now! He loves to hold his bottle and take it out of his mouth and put it back in over and over. His pacifier too! He loves to smoosh blankets into his face. I have learned that playing peek-a-boo, and rubbing my face in his tummy make him laugh!

He sits in his high chair now. He tries to grab the spoon and bowl while eating now. I am making him baby food and freezing it. Jhon got me a food processor for Valentine's Day (Don't worry I got chocolates and roses too!) He has eaten my fresh pears, mangoes, avocado, carrots, sweet potatoes, and more. He is also eating food from those little mesh net things, he goes to town on bananas in those things. He has tried using a sippee cup a couple of times. He holds it to his mouth, but hasn't figured out tipping it back!

Everywhere we go, people stop and want to get a good look at Caleb. He smiles at everyone, and then they smile. Makes me happy to see my boy put smiles on peoples' faces!! I got stopped 6 times on night at Albertsons by people wanting to check him out.

My school had a skate night and Bub and I went. A lot of my students got their parents to bring them just so they could see Caleb. They call him Bub. They bring him presents, ask how he is doing. He even got Valentine cards. He is like their honorary little brother! I got pics of him with my students, it was so cute! He had a blast looking at the lights, and watching the kids skate. He loves watching older kids, always looks like he wants to join in on what they are doing!

He shows signs of teething, but no teeth yet! He wasn't feeling well and Jhon took him to the dr. at 5.5 months. He was 21 pounds 9 ounces. He gained over half a pound in 2 weeks.

The best part of my days when I work, is going to pick up Caleb. His sitter opens the door, holding him. He turns his head, sees it is me, and then the world stops for a second, my heart melts. My boy gives me the biggest, happiest grin. His eyes light up and we are so happy to see each other. Same thing days he is home with daddy and I get home. Now I get that smile when I got to get him out the crib too. Not much has ever made me as happy as that boy's smiles make me!

We love you Caleb and have treasured every minute of the last 6 months!

Adventures in Sleep Training

It was time. Time for Caleb to learn not to hate his crib! And to sleep in it for more than a couple of hours!

Ok, here is what I did. I am following the book "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" by Dr. Marc Weissbluth. It has a endorsement by Cindy Crawford on the cover. It was recommended to me by so many people I decided to try it. Caleb has been on a terrible schedule. He is with a sitter Wed.-Fri., me on the weekends, and his daddy on Mon. & Tues. Then on Sat.-Mon. nights Jhon would watch him at night since he was going to be off. Well as soon as Caleb would wake up, he would take him downstairs and keep him down there until 6. And then I would try the crib. It was terrible, sometimes he would randomly sleep all night but mostly be up 2-3 times a night. Sometimes more. After him being up 4 times a couple of weeks ago I decided, enough is enough, we are doing this!

So, it is kind of a cry it out method. The dr. first tells about sleep and the science of it and how important it is and how important it is to learn how to go to sleep. You have to put the baby on a schedule. So he is napping around 9 and 1 now. He says to get a nighttime routine. And that people think keeping the kid up later will make them sleep. WRONG! It makes them overtired and a mess! For Caleb's age bedtime is between 7 and 8. Then he says to let the baby cry. They have to learn to soothe and fall asleep. (but not to cry for more than an hour, and less for a colicky baby) But if you do the routine, and rock them until they are almost asleep, then it should help them. Some days I give Caleb a bath. We go in his room, read stories in the rocking chair, then he has 4- 6 ounces, and he starts dozing off. I put him in the crib and he wakes up. I say good night and give him a kiss and leave. I heard him fuss about 3 minutes top for the 2nd & 3rd night. And then he was out. The dr. said do not let them out of the bed until 6am. And not to feed in the middle of the night. The only time to feed or change a diaper is after 4, and to not talk to the baby. Just feed or change and put back to bed.

Here is how night 1 went. He didn't get to bed until 9. He was up at 10. I let him cry 30 minutes. Since it was night 1 I broke the rule not to go to him, but I didn't pick him up or talk to him. I just put my hand on his chest a few minutes and he went to sleep. Exact same thing happened at 2. He was up at 4, I gave him some bottle and he went to sleep. Jhon thought I was a big fat meanie, but I convinced him to hang in there!

Night 2-I put him down at 8. He didn't wake until 3. And he was wide awake. We let him cry off and on for 2 hours, so I broke the rule and we got him out and in our bed at 5. He was still up til 6. Crazy kid, bad habit from being up with dad. He finally crashed out for a bit, but I had to get him up for the babysitter.

Night 3- He went down at 8:30. He woke up at 1, and I gave him his binky and put my hand on his chest. He went right back to sleep until after 6! And when I heard he was awake he wasn't crying, just laying there talking to himself and playing.

Night 4- Slept from 7-5. Dad got him out of the crib. But I talked to my sister and she was told if they aren't crying and are just playing, to leave them and they might fall back asleep.

Night 5-Slept from 7:30-5 We left him and he did go back to sleep until 7:30!!!
Last night 6-slept from 7 til 4. Jhon gave him some bottle. Then he slept until after 7 again!

And since then, it has stuck. He sleeps often from 7-6 or 7-7. Today he was up at 4:30 to eat. I made the mistake of feeding him with us, hoping he would go back to sleep. He wanted to play, so that is not happening again!!

The best part is that I don't have to rock him to sleep and pray that he doesn't wake up when I put him in the crib. He woke up about 90% of the time and cried and I had to start all over. Now, I read him stories, gave him his bottle, put him down, he looks at me, turns his head, and goes to sleep. He doesn't hate his crib anymore!!!

It is quite an adjustment to be home for good around 6:30. I am used to still be out and about in the evenings! It is worth it!

How can this be? Caleb is 5 months already! Time flies when you are having fun! I am sure he is well over 20 pounds now, since he was over 19 at his 4 month appointment. Everywhere we go, people want to talk to Caleb and smile at him. He is very popular, and elicits squeals of delight when he flashes back his huge grin to all the random strangers. I get strangers telling me he is so alert and responsive. That is my boy!

New developments:
lots and lots of "razzing" you know...spitting, making noises...he loves it

He is at a new babysitter. Kim is in my ward and she has a couple of daughters. It is right across the street and he is loving it! I am taking a bunch of credits to get my masters +32 credits, a huge raise. We just have to survive until May! I also am looking into going into a library. I have an interview on Monday for a brand new school opening next year. It would be fun to get to start the library. I will also look during transfer season. I have had that degree since summer 08, so it would be fun to finally use it!

4 months!

I am waiting for pics from my mom to post about our Christmas in AZ. I downloaded my pics onto her computer and they erased off my camera.

On Jan. 5th, Caleb Bruce turned 4 months. He went to his check up that day. 19 pounds, 1 ounce. He is 27 inches long. 97% in height and weight. It is funny, his weight in the ultrasounds and on the charts since birth was always in the high 90s. His height though was always in the 60 and 70th percentile. Even at 2 months he was still in the 70th percentile in height. But he grew 4 inches in 2 months and got up to the 97th.

He can roll from his tummy to back. Jhon says he has rolled from back to tummy, but I haven't seen it yet. I see him try! But not quite make it! He focuses on objects hanging from his playmat and grabs them with both hands. He plays in his Baby Einstein exersaucer. He laughs out loud when we sing and play. He likes when we sing The Wheels on the Bus, and loves to listen to stories. Every where we go strangers stop to tell me how cute he is, or how alert. Can you tell I love my little guy?? Every day he is just more fun and I love every second! The first picture below is of me, Caleb, and 2 of my oldest friends, Jennifer and Shannon. I met Jennifer on my very first day at BYU. Her and Shannon lived in an apartment upstairs.

Caleb has been doing all kinds of new things! Growing way too fast for momma!!!
He loves grabbing his feet and playing with his toes. He is pushing himself way up on his tummy instead of laying flat and whining during tummy time. He is babbling like crazy. And he has laughed a couple of times. I had to buy him 6-18 month socks and they are already plenty tight. He is wearing 6 month clothes and 9 month clothes. I weighed myself, then did it holding him. 18 pounds. He isn't even 3.5 months yet. Slow down on the growing Bub!!!!

Caleb and I drove to UT with mom on Friday and then flew back on Monday. We got to go to the Oscarson family Christmas party, my first in MANY years! Emily and her wonderful family were there. So Caleb got to meet 3 cousins. It was just a fabulous weekend that I didn't want to end!!! Next weekend we will have Solomon with us and head to UT, so Caleb will be meeting his brother and other 5 cousins. Nathan and Lona will be in AZ. I will FINALLY meet Maddie Sue! YEAH!

Thanksgiving- 11 Weeks

Jhon had to leave for work at 1, so Caleb and I had two Thanksgivings with friends! They saw on Facebook that Caleb and I would be alone most of the day, so they invited us over. Angela, one of my "sisters" from work had us over. Their food was wonderful! Then we went to April's house. Jhon was able to join us later in the evening there. So I got to have 2 dinners with no cooking! I bought a bag of rolls.
Caleb is doing well. He was having some acid reflux issues and acted as if he was in pain for a few days. I had been forgetting his probiotics. Went back to them and the problems disappeared. He is doing great holding his head up. He has got to be strong to hold up his giant 90+ percentile head! He must have a big brain in there! I joke that he must be right brained, I think it is heavier on that side since he leans it that way most often!

had a habit of waking up at 4 or 5, WIDE AWAKE. I put him in the swing and was talking to him. I asked him if he thought his momma didn't need sleep. He started grinning like this.

Caleb is "talking" up a storm these days. His favorite word is goooo. He makes so many noises. He loves his playmat with music and a flashing sun that changes colors. He kicks and squeals for so long. He loves it.

Going to work has been an adjustment. It is so great that Jhon gets to stay home with the baby on Mondays and Tuesdays. Our babysitter is wonderful. He is always so happy when I pick him up. They said today he was on the playmat with their baby girl and they were holding hands for awhile. Being back at work hasn't been as bad as I was expecting.

And just when I think Caleb can't get any cuter, I get pictures like these!!

Caleb went to the pediatrician on 11/10. He was 15 lbs. 1 oz. He is a bit over 24", and has a big head. He was a little sad after getting all his shots, but by the evening was feeling much better.

Caleb was blessed on Sunday, the 8th of November. Mom and Dad were able to come for the weekend. We had a great time! Jhon did a great job. It was sweet seeing him and Caleb looking at each other after wards as Jhon held him. Caleb was holding on to Jhon's finger so tight. My friend Sylvette also came. Caleb wore the same blessing outfit that his cousins Jacob, Dwight, Ammon, Preston, and Rhett wore. My mom bought it in Belgium, and it is special that all the boys have worn it!

Bub's First Halloween- 8 Weeks

For some reason I have started calling my son Bub, and various variations such as Bubba, BubBub and Bubs. So when you see these names, I am talking about Caleb! I try to still call him Caleb several times a day so he doesn't grow up thinking his name is Bub.

Caleb turned 8 weeks old on Halloween. He is doing great, growing healthy and strong. As you can see from earlier posts, he is a smiler. Bub smiles at me all day long. First thing in the morning he smiles for several minutes straight. I make goofy smiles and faces and he tries to copy them. It is hilarious!!! Right now even, he is laying by me on the couch, laughing, smiling, and kicking away. He really only fusses when really tired or really hungry. Oh, also when he doesn't like me trying to dress him and it is taking too long!

He has started sucking on his whole fist. We thought this might mean he was hungry, but he doesn't always eat when we feed him after he is ferociously sucking on his fist. Also, when he does get mad at me he snorts while he cries. It is so cute! He will snort 3 or 4 times in a row.He loves to "talk" to me. We have long conversations of me repeating back to him all the sounds he makes.

For Halloween we went to our ward's trunk or treat. We didn't get any candy of course, but walked around seeing everyone's costumes and showing off Caleb's costume. He slept the whole time. Then we went to a Halloween party. Our friend the Richards and the Woods were there. We also made some new friends. Caleb did great. He is calm and happy. He also went with me to a Halloween party at the Garrards for several hours and was wonderful.

Guess Who is 30???

I tried posting a blog for my dear husband last night, but blogspot was having technical difficulties. So here goes.

Jhon Micah Mosley is 30. Yes folks, I will be 35 soon. I am a cradle robber!!! Jhon is a wonderful husband and father! He was worth the LONG wait!!!!

Some reasons I love Jhon....

He loves to surprise me by cooking my breakfast when he gets home from working all night!

He loves to plan fun, special stuff-like a picnic at Red Rock on New Years day. He always is thinking of new things we can do to spend time together.

He tolerates me taking a million pictures of everything wherever we go!

He grabbed on to the gospel as soon as he was introduced to it and has a beautiful testimony.

He is insanely smart, and though it drives me crazy- he is ALWAYS right, in anything we debate!

The kisses he gives me on the top of my head.

I love that he remembers exactly what I was wearing and what I said when we met. I would never have remembered.

I love that he is a good sport when I drag him to things like the bridal expo, Rodeo Drive on our trip to LA, and other girl stuff!

He is a great father to Solomon. Solomon's eyes light up around his dad. They love to play together, their wrestling makes me nervous sometimes, but the boy loves it.

I know he will be a great father to Caleb. He already is!

He is always excited to go to the temple. When he was a member for a year, we did a whirlwind temple tour and went to 5 temples in just a few months. He also honors his priesthood and loves to be able to serve others using it.

He is so tall, I can wear whatever heels I want and he is still way taller!

He always gives me really thoughtful gifts, and thinks about what I will like. It is really sweet!

He knew we were going to get married the week we met, maybe even the first night we hung out. He let me figure it out a couple of weeks later!

Ho cooks, barbeques, and loves to have friends over for dinner.

There are a million other things I love about him...but I got to save some for next year's blog!

My former roommate Jeanne Marie gave Caleb the cutest pants and hat when we went up to Utah. So I had to get pics of Caleb when he wore the outfit. I was out and about all day and strangers kept stopping me to say how cute he was and peeking into his carseat to look at him.

Six weeks of Joy

Mr. Caleb has been here for 6 weeks now. He is more fun every day! He smiles several times a day now. We love his little Elvis lip curl. We went to our ward family home evening last night and he was just happy as can be. Everyone commented on what a cute, calm, happy baby he is! I tell them he is calm until it is time to eat. He doesn't play when it is time to eat! I had a newborn Halloween sleeper, so I put it on him. So tight, but I got some pics of him in it! I also tried getting shots of all the faces he makes. I also took some pics of him in a camoflauge onesie in honor of my dad. He was 20 years army. So I took some pics to email him. It was funny, I took some pics of Caleb, then I told him to smile for grandpa. He on cue gave me a big grin! It was so perfect!
Caleb met my friends Kathryn & Laura this week. We met Kathryn during her lunch hour. Then Laura brought me dinner and visited awhile. I have such great friends!!!

He went to the Dr. a day before he was 5 weeks. He was a healthy 11 pounds 15 ounces. And 22.75 inches. His doc said he is doing great. He had tiny bit of a cold last week, but never got a fever or seemed too miserable! Thank goodness!

From day one, people have commented how alert little man is and how he seems to look like he is intently listening to people. I have pics of him having talks with my mom at just a week and a half old. Then these other two pics are of him with Amber and with my Uncle David. I think the way he is looking at them all is so cute.

Five weeks

Caleb had a dr. visit this week, one day before he was 5 weeks. He is up to 11 pounds, 15 ounces. And he is now 22.75 inches, he had grown half an inch from the last visit. The pediatrician thinks he is doing great.

I feel like I am starting to know his signals and we have had lots of good days due to this. The day he went to the dr. was a little rough, he had a shot, and I think it made him a little fussy.

We went to Utah last weekend with my mom. We had a little shower up there at my grandma's house. When I talked to my Aunt Anna when I was pregnant, she didn't want me to go up there for a shower until after he was born so people could meet him. It was a lot of fun. I am glad he got to meet his great-grandma and we got a 4 generation pic. Lots of aunts and cousins came to the shower or to visit on Sunday. Also, my old roommates, and old friends who live in Utah now. It was a lot of fun and I appreciate all who came.

While we were up there, Caleb discovered his tongue. He started rolling it, pushing it out, & it was funny to watch. He is already following things with his eyes, & grasping things. We have a playmat with a hanging ball. When mom was here last week we watched him staring up at the ball. Then he just swung his arm & hit that ball right in the middle.

My friend whose daughter was born Aug. 18th came over with her daughters last Sunday. Her baby was only 6 pounds and is still a pound less than Caleb! We tried taking some pics of them together. Well, they were both hungry, so first Caleb was trying to suck on Delylah's head. Then she was trying to eat him! It was funny and they were both crying! It was hilarious. Maybe the next get together will go a little better!

Caleb's First Bath- 9/12

For Caleb's week birthday he got a bath! Grandma helped me give him his first one! He wasn't too fond of the sponge bath part, sitting on his chair. But he LOVED getting his hair washed. A pic of the hair wash is below. And he loved the ducky robe from grandma. And if you noticed blue on his hands and feet, he is ok, we just had done some hand and foot prints with blue ink.

The first 6 days

The first 6 days with Caleb have flown by and have been such a joy. This boy is so sweet!!! Everyone comments on how alert he is, and how calm. He sleeps a lot, is nursing well, and doing well physically. Often we are trying to wake him so he can eat since he sleeps so well!!!
He had his first appointment. He is 2 inches taller than hospital said! Almost 21.5 inches, not 19.5. He had lost at least 6 ounces before I left the hospital, but he is back up to 9 pounds 1 ounce. Everything is perfect and the pediatrician has no concerns.

He is here!!!!!!!!!!!

Caleb was born at 11:33 am on Saturday, September 5th. We had the date scheduled for a c-section. Many questioned why I was doing that, but my dr. and I considered the risks with the predicted high weight and decided on it. All along, as soon as we decided, I felt really good about it. Also, I found out BYU was playing Oklahoma, ranked #3 on the scheduled date. I found out if it would be on, and what time. I told Jhon that Caleb was going to play for them one day, so they were going to win for him on his birthday.

The c-section went well, but it was still difficult due to Caleb's large shoulders, torso, and head. The doctors were still had to work hard to get that boy out! Then the dr. discovered a knot in his cord. We have discussed that in labor that could have tightened and he could have gone into distress or worse, especially while trying to naturally get out those large shoulders. So I felt really glad we had done the c-section and knew that I had been prompted to make the right choice! Even though EVERYONE questioned why I was having a c-section.

Caleb was 9 pounds even and 19.5 inches. So not too long yet, all bulk on that frame! All the nurses, doctors, and everyone checking him out say he looks 2-3 months old! My parents think so too! We are fortunate that they could come.

Caleb is a wonderful baby! He is very calm, eats well. A pediatrician came and said he looks great. His hearing is great. He is very alert, and is already smiling for mama!!! They all come and do their temp checks or other exams and he just lays there calmly. They are surprised because they say most babies fuss at them!

I feel so blessed to have him and can tell he is a special spirit!!! He is our miracle baby!!! I am going to get some pics of us together today. yesterday I had oxygen tubes and IV tubes and was a mess, but today I am off all that so we will get some more pics!

And we did get to watch the game and what do you know!! BYU pulled off the upset and beat Oklahoma! So Caleb did get a present from BYU for his birthday or he was lucky charm for them!!!

We have our computer back!!! Updates

So I have not blogged because about 2 weeks ago our computer got a virus and wouldn't connect to the internet. We ordered system restore disk and now we are back! Yeah!!!

Our lasted ultrasound showed our guy continues to be a healthy grower!! He was 37 weeks 5 days and overall measured a few weeks ahead. His arms continue to be LONG, measuring 41 weeks 4 days and his legs at 40 weeks 3 days. He was predicted to be almost 9 pounds at that point.

The latest is that Caleb Bruce Mosley will be here Sat. Sept. 5th unless he decides to come sooner! I am so ready. I was doing great until 2 weeks ago my feet swelled and the lower back started to kill. I worked the whole first week with students and then Monday. But I have been calling in the rest of the week. It was too much to be up moving around all day.

I am glad we got the computer back so we can take the laptop to the hospital and put up pics of the baby as soon as we can!!!

38 weeks

Red Rock and Bonnie Springs

Last week Jhon, Solomon, and I went out to Red Rock Canyon for a picnic. I thought Jhon was crazy for having this idea because of how hot it was. But we had a cooler and brought lots of drinks. Our picnic was great. We walked on this boardwalk type of thing and it had info about the land and animals. Then we drove on a little further to an old Nevada town called Bonnie Springs. It is a cute, tiny old place. There was a zoo there, had some fun animals. And Solomon got to feed turtles, swans, and ducks at the pond. We had some ice cream and french fries at the restaurant there. It was a really fun day together!

Family Reunion

Solomon and I drove to Arizona, and then the next day drove with my folks, Matt, and Aaron and his family to Colorado. There were about 140 people at the King family reunion! It was so much fun! My aunts and cousins quilted my baby boy a quilt. I learned how to do it and helped. My dad even put in a few stitches! It is so good to be with my amazing family! Here are just a few pics of the fun. I did pretty good roughing it while 30 weeks pregnant!

So our little guy is not so little!!! He at 28 weeks 4 days is weighing in at 3 lbs, 11 ounces. Over a pound more than the normal. over 90th percentile. He is measuring 31 weeks 2 days, 19 days ahead!

Head circumfrence- 95th percentile 31 weeks 4 days
Abodominal circumfrence- 86th percentile 30 w 6 d
Femur-79th percentile 30 w 5 d
Humerus 95th percentile 32 w 4 d

SO overall he is in the 95+th percentile for his date. Size wise he would be due Aug. 23rd. So who knows where he will end up!!! They were nice and gave me some 3D shots.

Jhon thinks that this little guy has my nose and lips.

He is in the breech position still. I could see him kick at the same time that I felt it! I also saw him yawn again, and for awhile it looked like he was chewing something. He rolled around a ton and moves a lot!!! Every time I go they comment on how active he is!! He didn't want to move his hands from in front of his face for the 3D.

Everything is perfect. The placenta, amniotic fluid, and all his organ measurements. THey check out his brain, heart chambers, kidneys, bladder, and all. And he definitely is still a boy!!!

It was great and I loved seeing him again!!!

SO my wonderful husband gets hook ups for tickets to Vegas shows. We have gone to Steve Wyrick, Terry Fator and more. Well the fun has continued and we had great fun for May and June!

First off, our anniversary week was eventful!! First we went and saw Jersey Boys at the Palazzo! Several Vegas reviewers rate it as one of the top shows. I really had no idea was it was going to be and wasn't expecting much, but it was really good!!! The baby did a lot of dancing to all the music!!!

Then the same week we got to go to Blue Man Group at the Venetian! It was fun! I wouldn't say it was my favorite, but I am glad I got to see it!!!

This month was GREAT! First we got to see Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian! I have seen many shows in London and other places, but I never saw this! It was wonderful!!!

Then two days later it was off to see Lion King at Mandalay Bay. It just started here in Vegas. It was very good!!!

Then one I hadn't heard of was on Jhon's list of free shows, Shear Madness. I found out this has the Guinness World Record for longest running who-dun-it show! It was at Town Square, down south on the strip. We got moved up to the love seats in the front, and it was a murder/mystery play. It was a lot of fun!

Then one day on Jhon's first day off this week, I see in the paper that there are FREECATIONS going on!! So since Jhon was off that day and the next I went ahead and booked us two nights! It was for 2 free nights out at Buffalo Bill's in Primm, about 40 miles south of Vegas. It also was for 2 free all day ride passes, 2 for 1 buffets, and more. Jhon was asleep, so I quietly packed up stuff we would need for 2 days. I didn't tell him what was up, just started driving and told him we were going on an adventure. After many wrong guesses, it started to become obvious once we were way out there! We had a lot of fun!! Jhon rode rides that I wasn't allowed on, and I sat in the shade by the pool. It was fun to get away and it was totally fun to surprise Jhon!

So us Mosley's are living large-for free!! Those shows would have been over $1000 if we paid for them! :)

So I scored this weekend!! Using my grocery smarts lists, I was able to spend a total of $63 at Vons and Albertsons. And I saved.....$120!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had earned $10 off at both stores, and saved over $10 with coupons from the paper & online that went with the sales.

My CVS savings this week rocked too! I got some stuff we needed like shampoo, conditioner, and deodorant, and got 7 bucks in easy care bucks. So they had $7.49 All detergent, the 3X small and mighty liquid for buy one get one free. Then grocery smarts had a link to get a coupon for $1 off each. So the first purchase I used my easy care bucks and the coupon and got 2 of the detergents for free. I did another transaction, and got two more for $7. So with taxes it would have been like $33, and I got it for $7!!!!

I also got a $70 back and belly maternity pillow for $10 at a garage sale. Yeah! I have had problems with my back and getting comfortable sleeping! I can't wait to use it tonight!!

Scary Night

On the way home from tutoring I got rear ended on the freeway. Luckily I was not moving fast, nor was the guy behind me. I don't know what the girl who hit him was doing, but she smashed into him and then he hit me. Luckily, her and I had a Yukon between us. If she had hit me that hard, I would have been calling 911 and having an ambulance take me in.
I was ok and calm until I didn't feel the baby move for awhile. I had been thinking the last few days that I hadn't felt him much. Well, yesterday he happened to be moving all day. I felt little nudges consistently throughout the day. So when it got to over an hour of not feeling him, even after poking where I knew he was I started getting scared. I called my mom, and kind of got hysterical in the car while I was waiting for the highway patrol to do their thing. I just started thinking of what I would do if I lost my little guy. Mom calmed me down. The officer could see I was starting to panic, so he gave me the report number and told me to go. I went to the E.R. After an hour there, hoping not to get swine flu or something else, I asked the girl how long it would be and told her I had not felt my baby for 2 hours now. She told me to go outside and around the corner to the women's center.
They got me right in there, at Labor and Delivery, and we went to the Doppler. I was hoping to get an ultrasound and see him, but she said she couldn't for a bunch of reasons. But hearing the baby's heart beat was the most beautiful sound ever!!!!
He was moving around a lot and his heart beat was 153! Yeah!
Just the thought of losing our boy to some dummy not paying attention on the road made me realize how much I love him already. I really don't want to drive anymore!!!I drive kind of far to tutor every day, but I am canceling for today! Jhon was at work through all of this and I was home alone, so I couldn't sleep until almost midnight. Then he got in bed at 3:30 and then I couldn't go back to sleep. So I am not tutoring! I woke up starving! I never really ate after all the mess last night! I didn't even get home until almost 10, and it happened at 6.
I am just grateful that I didn't get the most of the hit, and that baby is doing fine. I felt him moving when I was trying to go back to sleep at 4, and it was the most wonderful feeling!!!

So the case was Deal vs. Michelin and Discount Tire.

Ok, so on Sept. 27, 2002, Richard Deal-48, Lonnie Deal-26, and Trystan Deal-4, left Las Vegas and headed to their cabin at Duck Creek, near Cedar City, Ut. THey were in a 1977 pickup, and one of the tires was a 1996 Goodyear tire. This tire separated near Washington, Ut. Richard and Lonnie died. So Richard's wife Gaylene was a plaintiff, and the little boy. His mom was not, because her and Lonnie were divorced. They were going for 8 figures.

The plaintiffs claimed that the tire made in 1996 was defective. Their "expert" claimed there were 3 different defects. They claimed there was an open inner liner splice, trapped air in the tire, and porosity. They had a ton of witnesses, and tried for four days to prove this. It took days for their expert to testify. Discount was part of the trial because allegedly they bought the tire there. THat was never proven and they were out of the suit by the end.

Michelin only called 2 witnesses. They had like 14 on their list, but I guess they felt they didn't need it. They pointed out that the tire was 6 years old. It was an all terrain tire, so it would last longer than tires like on my car. Anyhow, they showed pictures of the cut up tread. It had also had a nail repair, and the pointed out that we had no idea how long the tire had run with that hole, with air being allowed into the tire. They also had their own expert to dispute the open splice, trapped air and porosity claims. Their expert was 1000% more credible.

The 2 alternates were dismissed after closing arguments. Then we went to deliberate. We had to get a vote of 6-2. We had that right away....in favor of Michelin.
It was interesting because afterwards the marshall and attorneys could talk to us and we found out things that we couldn't know before. Like that the boy was wearing a seat belt, but the men were not. Hmm. Then we found out that they had been offered settlements throughout, but they wanted their 8 figures I guess. We also found out that they had good insurance, and she gets a really good pension of her husband, so their medical bills and funeral expenses had long been taken care of, and they aren't going to be left penniless.

There is sooo much more. It was very interesting. I know everything there is to know about how tires are made, tested, and what defects they can have!!! But that is a little summary. I think baby loved jury duty. I ate lots of Skittles to keep awake! And he gave me lots of good kicks while i was there.

County Fair

We took Solomon last Friday night to the Clark County Fair in Logandale. He had an all night ride pass. No rides for me, no pregnant riding allowed! Too bad, I love the rides. It was fun to see Solomon have such a great time. I loved the expression on his face after he got off each new ride! We had funnel cake and cotton candy. We saw some dance shows and a hypnotist. I ran into an old friend Kira. It was a fantastic family night at the fair!

On Jhon's day off Thursday while Solomon was here, he BBQ'd some ribs with his secret family recipe sauce. I had got some pork ribs for a great deal with my new savings resources. Jhon made cornbread, collard & mustard greens, and some beans also. We had a lot of fun and we ate ribs for the next few days! My man can cook!

Ok, so it is no secret I wanted a girl. I have 2 stepsons. There are going to be 7 grandsons already and only 3 granddaughters. Maybe it is because in my 10 years of teaching 99% of my challenging students have been boys! And girl stuff is just so cute!!!

Well, Jhon has been sure from day 1 that Peanut is a boy. Today it was confirmed with pretty much certainty, that our Peanut is a boy!! I am happy! I can't say there wasn't a little twinge of disappointment. But it went away fast. I thought of my wonderful nephews and of my friends' cute little guys! I know that the baby Heavenly Father has sent us is the one we are supposed to have right now. And I don't ever want him to think I didn't want him! I know I will love and adore him more than I can comprehend still.

So our guy is already a big guy. I am 18 weeks 4 days and she said he measures at 20 weeks. He is 10 ounces and all the websites say 18 weeks the baby is 7-8 ounces. And they said he is long for 18 weeks also. We got 13 pictures, and they showed us all his parts and told us what they all do. We saw all parts of his brain, and heart chambers. He was moving all over the place!

I was thinking of trying to deliver naturally after some stuff I read, but if our guy is going to be gigantic, I don't know if I can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I got an invite to a coupon class, and I thought it was about time I followed my little sister's lead! I always looked for sales, but I wasn't a huge couponer or planner. The class was great, and the grocerysmarts.com website is a valuable resource. I am going to host a class in the future when this jury duty thing is done!

Day 1 with Solomon

Solomon flew in on Sunday night. Monday I had off of jury duty, so we picked up his buddy Kyle & met up with my former roommie April and her girls at the park. We got ice cream at Dairy Queen. Also, I called Boomer's new owner, and Solomon and I got to see him since we gave him to the new owner. He is still so darn cute! She texted me some pics, but I don't have them on computer yet. We came home and had dinner with Jhon. Then we all went for a walk together since the weather was perfect. It was fun! It was a very fun day! We have some fun plans for the rest of Solomon's visit, so stay posted.

Jury Duty...Burden with surprise blessing!

So, on Monday March 16th, I showed up for jury duty. That day I waited around for quite awhile, and then I was given a questionnaire to fill out. I was told we had to be back Thursday at 8:30. We sat there until 2. Then they finally started jury selection, but stopped at 4. So then we had to go back Friday. And it took all day again. ANd I got picked. It is a case that will be 3-4 weeks. So no mission reunion for me, or Easter in AZ. Or Spring Break. It is an interesting case, it is civil. At least I still get a paycheck, unlike some of the jurors. So here I am, juror #1.

The blessing is that I met Pamela. She has an 8 month old daughter. We had lunch with a group of people. She found out I was expecting and offered a bunch of stuff. I went to pick it up Sat. night. It was amazing. There was a $180 Eddie Bauer bassinet, a sweet peace $180 swing, a $199 pump, and a 50 dollar one. Also an Eddie Bauer infant travel bad that folds up, a large bather for the baby, bottles, white baby tennis shoes, a ton of clothes and swaddlers, and some maternity tops!!! I looked at the websites of these products. Before all the baby and maternity clothes it comes out to $700!!! Here is the loot!!! She also said if I have a girl she has tons more stuff for me. She wouldn't take any money. What a nice lady!!! The people you meet at jury duty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Terry Fator and Shark Reef

So Jhon got tickets to go see Terry Fator at the Mirage for free, so we went Thursday. This is the guy who won the first America's Got Talent. We never saw him on the show, so I wasn't sure what to expect. But the show was amazing! He was hilarious, could sing, and we laughed hard the whole show. Best part, we were 4 rows back! Our seats were $129 each, but not for us! :)

I also took a girl who is in my ward and in the classroom next door out for some fun on Saturday. I took her to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, I get in free with a guest with my teacher id. Then we got $1 sundaes at McDonalds. It was a lot of fun. McKenna is a cutie! This pics are of her touching a sting ray, in front of kimodo dragon and a golden crocodile.

New ultrasound

We went for an ultrasound this week! It was wonderful! Peanut waved, I told Jhon the baby was waving at him, because I had been in there first, and as soon as Jhon came it Peanut waved. We also saw some hiccups. With every hiccup the baby would bounce around! And then we saw a yawn. We have the cutest Peanut ever!!! The baby is measuring 2.5 inches and everything looks great!!!

Goodbye Boomer

SOOOO. We are no longer dog owners. Back in June, a customer of Jhon's said she would give us a free pure bred pekingese, with his papers back to all his grandparents. He was worth hundreds of dollars, so we thought why not. And he is stinking adorable!!! And we love Boomer.

Well, I ended up taking classes and not getting home until 7 or 8. And Jhon is working 2 jobs. So poor Boomer had to be thrown in the backyard alone all day, or kept in the kennel for way longer than he should be. And when he came out he wanted to play, and we just didn't have the time to give him all the attention he needed.

He also has a very small bladder and we don't have a doggy door. So if we forgot to take him or put him out, our carpet paid the price.

He slept in his kennel at night, and as soon as he hears me wake up, he starts whining to get out. So while I try to get ready, he is just whining away. I almost lost it one morning, after he had peed the night before and then started whining in the morning. I realized I could not handle the whining every time I get up with the baby and so on.

We just decided now is not the time for us to be still working with a puppy while I am pregnant. We love him, he is cute and fun, but we decided to put him on craigslist and see what happened.

We listed him on Thurs. night. We had 2 very interested ladies by 9:00 am Friday!!! Well, Boomer's new mom, just had a a pekingese who died. She is single, and he will be her companion! When she goes to work, she takes him to her mom's. There he has another dog to play with, a doggy door!, and attention ALL DAY. She is going to spoil him and give him so much attention that we couldn't give him!

When I left him yesterday, I was sad. I had to leave fast, once she decided she wanted him and handed me the check. I couldn't look at him again once I knew I was leaving. I wondered all night if he was going to cry missing us, or be sad. It was really hard. But as I left, I was kind of relieved. No pee, whining, or fur anymore. Does that make me terrible??? That I could just give up my puppy????

We did sell him, so half of the money we got, was put to buying a steam cleaning vacuum to clean up after him!!!!! Jhon spent hours Friday night cleaning our carpet. Unfortunately, we found where Boomer's favorite spot was, and we will have to keep cleaning that one!!!

So no pets for us, for quite some time.

First Ultrasound!

Today I went in for my first ultrasound. Peanut is 5 millimeters, exactly how big (s)he is supposed to be!! It was so cool to see the heart beating! Doc. said once he sees the heart beat, Peanut most likely will be perfectly healthy, about 90% sure. Yeah!

Peanut is doing well! I went to the doctor last week, got the confirmation that I am pregnant. He did some exams and said everything looks good. He sent me to do a blood test. I got the results yesterday. All my levels are good, I am keeping my iron in the normal range, and the HCG count is good. I have my first ultrasound to hear the heart next Tuesday. The doctor said he can say he would be 90% sure Peanut will be fine if he hears the heart then! I can't wait!
Things are great. I am just really, really hungry all the time. So far, that is it!

Big New Year Surprise

I know that a lot of people don't like to tell what I am sharing until later on, like after the first trimester, but gosh darn it! I can't help it. I took 3 pregnancy tests today :), two different brands, and all 3 said....I am pregnant!

I know things can happen. But I am just excited I can be pregnant. Hopefully our little peanut makes it through the first trimester and all is well. If not, I am just so ecstatic to know I can even get pregnant at all. I have had issues that affect fertility for 13 years, so I was really afraid I could never get pregnant. So we would love any prayers for the baby to grow and do well!

Jhon keeps saying he is going to have his third son. I can't lie, I would like a little girl, but I will be overjoyed either way!!! So if all goes well, all the online charts and calendars say it would be around Sept. 10th. I am going to try to get into the Dr. as soon as I can!

So now my sister and I are preggers together!!

New Years

Jhon suggested we go for a picnic for our New Year's Date. So we packed up some food and went out to Red Rock. Then we went shopping for a coat for Jhon. We went to Dillards and discovered half off of all the sale prices, a lot of things already half off. Jhon got some clothes and a $350 coat for $78 bucks! Then we went and had dinner together. It was a great day!

Greyhound Journey

So there posts are all out of order because of the pictures I had that were mine, and getting my sisters.
Here is our bus journey story.

So Solomon and I took the bus to Mesa on Dec. 20th to make it to the King Party. Jhon came up Sunday evening, the next day.
The bus ride to Flagstaff was great. A super nice and friendly military girl was in front of us. She gave Solomon a patch she wore in Irag for a year from her uniform. We met lots of people. Solomon had his PSP, I had some books.
Then in Flagstaff, things got interesting. Most of our new friends got off to switch buses. We were supposed to hang out there for 30 minutes. Solomon and I ran to get a postcard and got some Dairy Queen. We were back, and after the 30 minutes they let new people on. SO the bus was full. We had been back and waiting forever and some dude had been shopping comes back. His seat is taken and him and the bus driver argue about this for 15 min. Finally, the guy gets to come back on and some poor guy got kicked off. After we finally leave, about 15 minutes later a guy comes back to say there is a drunk guy in back who may have soiled his pants and was being annoying. The bus driver stops, tries to get guy to stay in bathroom. He won't do that. So we have to turn around, go back to Flagstaff and drop the guy off. Solomon was very excited about this drunk guy story! It made us late enough to miss our connection from Phoenix to Mesa. So we had to wait in Phoenix for the company to get us a cab to Mesa. It was quite an adventure, but we did make it to the party! Whew!

Another night in Mesa, we drove out to some place that has trains. We waited in line for awhile, but they had characters walking around and the carousel to keep the kids occupied. When we finally got on the train, there were lots of fun lights and it was very beautiful! It was a fun night!

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning we always have breakfast first. Eggs, bacon, sausage, juice and the works. With the highlight being mom's homemade cinnamon rolls. They are wonderful. Then after breakfast the kids got to see the tree and the presents and go to town opening them.

Steve Wyrick Magic Show

With Jhon's new job they get free show tickets every month. This month he gets four free tickets to Steve Wyrick who performs at Planet Hollywood. So we went and took a friend of Solomon's with us. It was a fun night! The boys were mesmerized! Then afterwards Steve comes out and signs ticket stubs and takes pictures. So we met him and got his autograph.

Snow Day in Vegas

So, I don't have to work tomorrow! I never in a million years thought I would see a snow day in Las Vegas. We have had flurries before. I rarely have seen snow stick in the last ten years. It is great because I have so much to do to get ready for Solomon coming on Friday night. I was going to be up late cleaning and grading papers, but now I have all day tomorrow to do it! :)
Solomon and I are going to be in AZ for the King family party on Sat night. I am so excited! Can't wait to see mom, dad, Matt, Emily and her gang, and the rest of the relatives! Jhon will make it there on Sunday. We will come back to Vegas on Tues. night.
We are having Christmas Eve dinner with my old friend and former roommate April and her family.
I am so excited Solomon gets to spend Christmas with us! It will be great to spend Christmas with a kiddo!
